A Fortune 500 company and a leader in global payment services, Western Union is a huge proponent of empowering end users via mobile devices. By deploying Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile (formerly Skycure Mobile Threat Defense) and the MobileIron MDM solutions, the company immediately identified potential malware, earning compliments from its employees.
Protecting mobile devices from attack
Western Union needed a solution to protect mobile devices across multiple threat vectors, including the device itself, malware, malicious networks, and OS and app vulnerabilities. The same solution also had to be easily updated and not hurt the end-user experience.
"When we initially rolled out, SEP Mobile identified potential malware that our other solutions had missed. We were pleasantly surprised when those users thanked us for alerting them. It is unusual to be thanked for security."

Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile
Western Union rolled out Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile (formerly Skycure Mobile Threat Defense) and the MobileIron MDM solutions to employer-owned mobile devices. Since SEP Mobile is a cloud service, there was no on-premises infrastructure that needed to be deployed or managed, and end users followed short instructions to install the apps themselves out of the Google Play or Apple App Stores.
