Headquartered in Florida, Adventist Health System is one of the largest non-profit hospital system companies1 in the United States. Chief Information Security Officer Sharon Finney discusses the challenges faced in a highly-regulated industry, managing increasingly complex, targeted threats aimed at their 50,000 workstations and 6,000 servers and maintaining compliance to ensure the security and welfare of their 85,000 employees and serving more than 5 million patients each year2.
Highly-regulated industry requires absolute compliance and visibility
As a major player in arguably the most-regulated industry, Adventist Health System not only needs to maintain compliance across 50,000 endpoints, but equally important is that they can demonstrate their compliance to inustry regulators. Managing policy exceptions and complying with myriad regulations whilst proactively managing risk is tough enough, and finding an appropriate agentless solution is critical to business productivity and efficiency. Translating legal regulations into a language that relates to technical requirements is essential in order to maintain compliance.
"Lighter and faster policy updates are always a good thing. I'm looking forward to seeing how SEP 14 has improved from a timing perspective, so maybe we can run virus scans more frequently."
